NAFA is a non-profit, volunteer-driven support group for adoptive families and those interested in adoption. NAFA is actively involved in education, advocacy and support for its nearly four hundred member families located throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. NAFA is comprised of adoption professionals, prospective adoptive families and members of the adoption triad: birth parents, adoptees and adoptive families. Our families have adopted through agency and private avenues, both domestically and internationally. This diversity enables NAFA to provide information and support to families who have already adopted as well as those who are thinking about adoption or are just starting the process.
NAFA has available an introductory adoption DVD, Adoption Options: Exploring the Possibilities. NAFA also sponsors a Baby & Toddler Care Class for Adoptive Families, monthly groups for waiting families and newly adopting families, educational conferences and classes, a library available through the Lake Oswego Library, an annual campout and several other social events. NAFA membership ($25/year) includes the bi-monthly newsletter.
